TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. INTRODUCTION

Welcome to SLL Journeys. We are thrilled that you have chosen us to execute a timeless and authentic West African journey for you. We are committed to ensuring that your experience with us is seamless and proactively anticipated leaving you to only savor each special moment during your time with us. By booking SLL Journeys as your preferred destination management service provider, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions.

2. BOOKING AND RESERVATION POLICY

2.1. BOOKING CONFIRMATION:

- All bookings are subject to availability and will be confirmed via email once the agreed-upon payments have been received.

2.2. HOTEL, TRANSPORTATION, AND RESTAURANT RESERVATIONS:

- To ensure all transportation services and hotel reservations are secured and booked in advance, a deposit must be made before the start date of the tour.

- The hotel reserves the right to resell your rooms should deposits not be made through SLL Journeys.

- If hotels outlined in your itinerary cannot confirm, another hotel of similar standard will be secured for your comfort. This may affect the quoted price of your package. We will inform you before changes are made to your hotel accommodation.

3. PAYMENT TERMS

3.1. DEPOSITS:

- A non-refundable Journey Planning Fee of $250 must be made at the time of booking. This will be credited against the total cost of the tour.

- 30% of the total invoiced cost is required no later than 30 days after written confirmation via email.

3.2. FINAL PAYMENT:

- The remaining 70% balance must be paid no later than 90 days before the commencement of the tour. Failure to make the final payment on time may result in cancellation of the booking and forfeiture of the initial 30% deposit.

3.3. PAYMENT METHODS:

- We accept payments via bank transfer. Bank charges incurred will be borne by the client. All payments must be made in USD.

4. CANCELLATION POLICY

4.1. CANCELLATION BY THE CLIENT:

- Cancellations must be made in writing via email. A reduction in group size will be considered as a cancellation.

- An initial non-refundable Journey Planning Fee of USD250 is required at the time of booking.  

- If cancellation occurs 90 days before the package start date, a full refund will be given. An administrative fee of USD350 will be charged per person for group bookings.

- If cancellation occurs between 60 - 89 days before the package start date, 50% of the remaining cost after the non-refundable deposit will be refunded.

- If cancellation occurs 21 - 59 days before the tour start date, 20% of the remaining cost of the package will be refunded.

- If cancellation occurs 0 - 20 days before the package start date, no refund will be given.

4.2. CANCELLATION BY SLL JOURNEYS:

- We reserve the right to cancel any tour due to unforeseen circumstances at any time. In such cases, a Future Journey Credit will be provided, or an alternative tour will be offered.

5. FORCE MAJEURE

SLL Journeys shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing any of its obligations under these terms due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, war, terrorism, strikes, lockouts, natural disasters, pandemics, or any other events of force majeure.

6. MEDIA USAGE

6.1. PHOTOGRAPHY AND VIDEOGRAPHY:

- By agreeing to our services, you consent to be photographed and filmed by our staff. These photos and videos may be used for promotional purposes on our website, social media, and other marketing materials.

6.2. OPT-OUT:

- If you do not wish to be included in any photographs or videos, please inform us in writing via email prior to the commencement of the tour.

7. LIABILITY AND INSURANCE

7.1. LIABILITY:

- SLL Journeys shall not be held liable for any loss, damage, injury, or death resulting from any aspect of our services, except where such loss, damage, injury, or death is proven to be due to our negligence.

7.2. INSURANCE:

- We strongly recommend that all clients obtain comprehensive travel insurance that covers medical expenses, personal injury, and other unforeseen circumstances.

8. GOVERNING LAW

These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Ghana. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ghana.

9. CHANGES TO ITINERARY

9.1. ALTERATIONS BY SLL JOURNEYS:

- SLL Journeys reserves the right to make minor changes to the tour itinerary if necessary. Significant changes will be communicated to clients as soon as possible.

9.2. CLIENT-REQUESTED CHANGES

- Any changes requested by the client after the booking has been confirmed may incur additional costs and are subject to availability.

10. COMPLAINTS AND DISPUTES

10.1. COMPLAINTS PROCEDURES:

- Any complaints should be communicated to the Founder immediately so that they can be addressed promptly. If the issue is not resolved to the client's satisfaction, a formal complaint should be submitted in writing within 30 days of the tour's conclusion.

11. DATA PROTECTION AND PRIVACY

11.1. PERSONAL DATA

- SLL Journeys is committed to protecting the privacy of its clients. Personal data collected during the booking process will be used solely for the purpose of arranging and delivering destination management services.

11.2. DATA SHARING:

- Personal data will not be shared with third parties without the client's consent, except where necessary to fulfill the services requested or as required by law.

12. HEALTH AND SAFETY

12.1. MEDICAL CONDITIONS:

- Clients are responsible for informing SLL Journeys of any pre-existing medical conditions or special needs prior to the start of the tour.

12.2. FITNESS TO TRAVEL:

- It is the client's responsibility to ensure they are fit to travel and participate in the activities of the tour. SLL Journeys reserves the right to decline any participant whose condition may affect the health, safety, or enjoyment of other clients. This will be done in the most respectful way possible.

13. RIGHT TO REFUSE SERVICE AND LEGAL REDRESS

SLL Journeys prioritizes the safety, dignity, and well-being of its staff, partner service providers, and guests. We reserve the right to refuse service to any individual or group who engages in behavior that is deemed inappropriate, abusive, or threatening. This includes, but is not limited to:

-Verbal Abuse: Any form of aggressive or hostile language directed at SLL Journeys staff, partner service providers, or other guests, including insults, threats, or discriminatory remarks.

- Physical Abuse: Any act of physical aggression or violence, whether towards SLL Journeys staff, partner service providers, or other guests.

- Sexual Harassment or Abuse: Any unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, or other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature directed at SLL Journeys staff, partner service providers, or other guests.

In the event of such behavior, SLL Journeys will take immediate action, which may include refusing service, terminating the tour, and removing the offending party from the group. Additionally, SLL Journeys reserves the right to seek legal redress, including pursuing civil or criminal action, to protect the safety and rights of its staff, partners, and guests.

No refunds or compensation will be provided to individuals who are refused service or removed from the tour for violating this policy. Furthermore, any costs associated with the enforcement of this policy, including legal fees, may be pursued against the offending party.

14. CHANGES TO TERMS AND CONDITIONS

- SLL Journeys reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Any changes will be posted on our website and will take effect immediately.

15. ENTIRE AGREEMENT

These terms and conditions, together with the booking form, constitute the entire agreement between the client and SLL Journeys, superseding any prior agreements, understandings, or arrangements.
